Why are we waiving our fees?

Everyone is thrilled with the concept of text message giving. It will raise additional funds, and introduce the concept of giving to a new audience that can turn into large donors later on.

The fees to set up and administer the mobile giving program, while not excessive, are nonetheless not in most NPO’s budget. It is challenging to commit to these fees until you know this program will be successful.

Therefore we want to make it as easy as possible to give mobile giving a try. So we decided to pay your application fee and per donation charges out of our own pocket for the first four months.

THE FINE PRINT

  • Your application must be submitted to the Mobile Giving Foundation by 04/30/10
  • Give by Cell will pay the $350 upfront Mobile Giving fee
  • You will not pay the Give by Cell upfront fee of $500
  • You will pay the Verisign one-time fee of $150
  • You agree to a four month agreement with Give by Cell, paying a monthly fee of $240
  • The first 2,000 donations will have no donation charge, with additional donations accruing a fee of $.20 during a three month trial
  • You will include a link on your site to the Give by Cell site, and include our name on promotional material
  • After the first four months you may decide if you wish to continue. If you do you will pay a monthly fee of $240 and a per donation fee of $.35
  • Limited to first 20 organizations signing up for this special offer in February 2010
